Mobile service — we come to you

A door security upgrade adds layers of protection to an existing entrance without replacing the whole door. The service covers fitting London bars, door chains, spyholes, hinge bolts and letterbox restrictors. We can combine any of these with a lock change or anti-snap cylinder in a single visit.

A mobile locksmith covering Bayswater and neighbouring W2 districts carries the hardware and tools needed to do the work on site. We work day or night, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

What we fit

London bars are surface-mounted steel bars that span the width of a door and lock into the frame. They give a strong visual deterrent and a physical barrier against forced entry. Door chains let you open the door a few centimetres while keeping it secured. We fit them with a reinforced chain and a sturdy keep that resists pulling.

Spyholes, also called door viewers, show a wide-angle view of the hallway without opening the door. They come in standard 180° or 200° lenses. Hinge bolts sit on the hinge side of the door to stop it being lifted off its hinges — a common attack on outward-opening doors. Letterbox restrictors limit the size of the opening, so tools or hands cannot reach the internal lock mechanism.

Communal doors in mansion blocks and converted houses

Bayswater and the surrounding W2 area contain many mansion-block and converted-house communal entrances. Responsibility for a shared front door usually sits with the freeholder or managing agent, so agree any upgrade with them before work starts. We can advise on hardware that meets the building’s fire-safety and access-control requirements. The final decision and any necessary permissions remain with the property management.

Combining upgrades

We often complete a lock change, an anti-snap euro cylinder and a door chain in the same visit. This reduces disruption and overall cost. We can assess the current hardware, recommend a BS3621-rated cylinder where required, and fit the additional security devices in one appointment. For more detail on the lock-change process see /lock-change/, and for anti-snap cylinder options see /anti-snap-euro-cylinders/.
